Hi, I'm Lawrence. I help people with busy lives bake artisan sourdough they're proud to share.

My Story

I'm a third-generation baker. I started my first sourdough starter when I was nine years old, and that starter, now more than 30 years old, is my inheritance. A living connection to a grandmother and a father who knew when dough was ready by feel, when to shape by sight, and when to bake by instinct.

I spent twenty years in cybersecurity while baking stayed my escape. When my wife and I moved to Tulsa in 2021, I brought that starter with me and started baking weekend loaves for neighbors. Friends couldn't get enough. Colleagues drove across town. Before long I was baking 80+ loaves a week and facing a choice: stay in tech, or follow my family's legacy.

I chose both.

In 2024, we opened Slate Sourdough in the Tulsa Arts District, a micro bakery built on organic, locally sourced ingredients and naturally leavened bread. We mixed thousands of kilograms of dough, sold out most weekends, taught workshops, and built a community. I'll be grateful for the rest of my life.

Earlier this year, I passed the torch. Slate's recipes and brand now live on with another local bakery, and I stepped into the chapter I'd been dreaming about.

Where I Am Now

I'm traveling across America, baking alongside some of the best bakers in the country. Asking questions. Making mistakes at their benches instead of mine. Learning how many different ways there are to make exceptional sourdough.

And everything I learn, I translate for you.

Here's what running a bakery taught me: you don't need a deck oven, a 2 AM alarm, or forty free hours a week to bake beautiful bread. You need clear steps, dependable timing, and a rhythm that fits your real life.

That's what Four the Love of Sourdough is. Simple recipes designed for busy schedules. Step-by-step courses that build confidence instead of confusion. Tools I've tested in professional and home kitchens alike. And weekly emails with the lessons I'm learning on the road, before anyone else hears them.

If you love great bread but don't have endless free time, you're exactly who I'm building this for.

When I'm not on the road or elbow-deep in flour, I'm home with my wife and kiddos, planning the next bake worth sharing.
